Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a condition that happens after experiencing or witnessing a deeply distressing event, like an accident, abuse (Eg. Physical, Emotional, Sexual, Neglect, Financial, Digital and Institutional), or disaster. People with PTSD may have flashbacks, nightmares, or feel constantly on edge, as if the danger is still present. They might avoid reminders of the trauma and struggle with anxiety, anger, or emotional numbness. PTSD can affect daily life, relationships, and mental well-being, but therapy, support, and coping strategies can help in healing and recovery.

Eg. After a serious car accident, a person may have bad dreams, feel scared when hearing loud noises, and avoid driving. These reactions are signs of PTSD, a condition caused by experiencing or witnessing something very frightening.
